Questions about the big picture

·         Compare two magazines; pop and rock, ask: how would you think if these two meshed together, and how could it do so?

·         As the genre is pop/rock, how font would you use? For example, would you prefer font is that is more rocky or more poppy, or even a mesh of the too?

·         With rock magazines colours may be more masculine and darker, while pop magazines may be girly and pinker, how do you think the two colours could work well together?

·         When looking at rock magazines; do you think that having the models wear masculine earthy clothes (mise en scène) make the magazine seem rockier? And so you think that a ‘candy’ pop magazine is successful when pink and light blue is used; possibly to be more appealing to a younger audience.

·         How much would u prefer to pay for a monthly magazine? £2.00? £3.00?  Less? More?

·         How often do you buy a magazine? Monthly? Daily? Once in a while? Hardly ever? Never?

DOUBLE PAGE SPREAD

·         What do you think of when magazines have the main image covering almost 2 thirds (or 3/4) of the main image? How much text or writing do u think should be the minimum and maximum when creating a double page spread?

·         Do you think that pop rock magazines should have the title like a mast head? Or should it be small creating space for text and images?

CONTENT PAGE

·         On a rock or pop magazine how many images do you think will make a content page successful?

·         When having an image on the content page, do you think that having text across the top of the image interferes with the image? Or do you think that it is successful?

·         Between the two magazines, Pop and rock, do you think that it is more successful for the images to be action images e.g. someone singing in concert, or still images, posed ones?

FRONT PAGE

·         What setting/location do you think would be best for a pop rock magazine? A white backdrop or an setting e.g. a forest for instance?

·         For a pop rock magazine would it be effective if the masthead (title) is behind the model or in front so it’s more noticeable?

The English brighton lad posted his first video on YouTube On 20th May, 2006, with his first video "Breathe" by fellow British musician Lee Carr., little did he know that he will become a famous singer 3 years later. In 2009, he made a cover of "Beautiful Monster" by American Ne-Yo, in which Ne-yo saw his cover of his song and contacted Conor, who became his mentor and eventually got him signed to EMI  subsidiary, Parlophone. With this he has become a popular artist, know for his songs "Can't Say No" "Vegas Girl" and "Animal".

She is an artist that produces songs in the genre of pop/rock, she is amoung many artists signed by major labels that produce pop/rock songs

She is another artist that is signed by a major label called Polydor (her uk record company) and Interscope, this is a video of her song Born To Die.
